Dragon fruit can be purchased online at sites like Amazon.com, or purchased from local stores near where the fruit is usually grown. Dragon fruit is seasonal, making it more expensive during the off-season. Dragon fruit is a fruit that resembles a flame, picked from various cactus species native to Mexico.
Dragon fruit is also called pitahaya, not to be confused with the fruit called pitaya grown from a different cactus species. Dragon fruit is found in other countries due to being transplanted from Mexico to many places across the world, including Central America, Hawaii, Australia, Israel and many Eastern countries such as China and Vietnam.
