Will a Magnet Stick to Titanium?

A magnet will not stick to titanium. Using a magnet is a common method of determining if a metal that’s being sold as titanium is actually titanium.

Titanium is an element with an atomic number of 22 and represented by the symbol Ti. It has a low density with high strength. Because of its strength and hardness, titanium is often used to make jewelry, especially wedding bands. Titanium is also resistant to corrosion in seawater and chlorine, which also makes it a good choice for jewelry.

Titanium can be combined with other metals, including iron and aluminum, to produce a lightweight alloy with a high level of strength. These alloys are often used in the production of automotive and aerospace parts, and medical supplies and equipment, such as orthopedic implants and dental instruments.
