What Is the Weather Like in Spring?

The weather during the season of spring varies depending on location, but it is usually marked by an increase in temperature and rain. In areas that receive snow during winter, the snow begins to melt. This can lead to flooding of waterways.

Besides the weather, several other signs indicate that spring has arrived. Buds form on trees, and vegetation begins to grow again. The number of hours of daylight increases. Animals wake, and birds return from migration. The closer a location is to the equator, the less obvious the signs of changing seasons are. In these areas, winter is sometimes barely different from summer, and spring is barely recognized.
