Does Vinegar Dissolve in Water?
Vinegar does not dissolve in water. When an element or substance dissolves in water, it is considered soluble. Substances that do not dissolve are insoluble.
Vinegar is composed of acetic acid that is derived from ethanol. Vinegar has a wide range of uses around the world in homes, businesses and medical fields. In the home, vinegar is a common cooking ingredient, but it also makes an effective cleanser. When used alone, or mixed with water, the acid in vinegar removes mineral deposits from different surfaces. For instance, some users run vinegar through their coffee machine to remove calcium deposits that are left behind after regular use. There are many types of vinegar as flavors are added to the product. One example is balsamic vinegar.
