Where Is NASA Located?
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s headquarters building is located at 2 Independence Square in Washington, D.C. NASA has 10 field centers and various installations positioned across the United States. NASA was established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958.
NASA’s headquarters is divided into mission directorates that focus on aeronautics, human exploration and operations, science, and space technology. The Aeronautics Mission Directorate works to make travel safer and more comfortable. Research for this department is conducted at NASA’s Ames Research Center, Dryden Flight Research Center, Glenn Research Center and Langley Research Center. NASA’s Science Mission Directorate focuses on scientific and unmanned exploration activities.
