According to Clemson University, the molarity of a white potato is estimated between 0.24 and 0.31 when it is submerged in a sorbitol solution. Molarity stands for the number of moles of a solute required to dissolve in one liter of a solution. The type of solution used will affect the molarity of the substance.
In order to calculate the molarity of a substance, determine how many moles of the solute are present and how many liters of the solution are being used in the experiment. Once both measurements have been determined, divide the number of moles of solute used in the experiment by the number of liters used of the solution during in the experiment.
