What Does It Mean When Your Heart Is Beating Over 106 Beats Per Minute?

According to Calm Clinic, a heart beating over 106 beats per minute is likely to cause anxiety and potentially tachycardia. The normal resting heart rate for an adult is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. A heart rate any greater than this is likely to result in serious health problems. Tachycardia is a common diagnosis for a high heart rate, but there are usually other symptoms that accompany it.

Tachycardia can occur randomly in a person with a high heart rate. It is often brought about by anxiety and panic attacks that can create fear. In some cases, it can feel like a small heart attack. The truth is that tachycardia is very different to a heart attack, but most people who experience it panic due to an increasingly rapid heartbeat.

There is no cure for tachycardia, so the best thing to do is to wait it out. To prevent it from occurring in the first place, the recommended strategy is to decrease stress and anxiety as much as possible. Relaxation is advised for those with a heart rate of over 106 beats per minute, but the best thing to do is to try and lower the resting heart rate. This is best done through regular exercise and reducing stress so that the heart can function within the normal beating range.
