How Many Times Does Your Heart Beat in a Day?
According to the Mayo Clinic, the average adult heart beats 60 to 100 times per minute, which translates to 86,400 to 144,000 beats per day. Some athletes have a lower heart rate because their hearts are typically stronger and in better shape.
There are many factors that determine a person’s heart rate, including current activities, fitness level and body size, according to the Mayo Clinic. A person can easily check their specific resting heart rate by checking their pulse on the neck or wrist for 15 seconds. After getting the pulse, a person then multiplies that number by four to get beats per minute. For an estimated heart rate, a person should multiply this number by 1440, the number of minutes a day, to see how many times their heart beats in a 24-hour period.
