If I’m 5 Feet 7 Inches Tall, How Much Should I Weigh?
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the ideal weight for an adult who is 5 feet, 7 inches tall ranges from 118 to 159 pounds. The CDC uses a body mass index calculation to determine if a person is underweight, overweight or within the recommended range.
The body mass index does not measure body fat, the CDC explains; rather, it compares people’s heights and weights to determine if they are at acceptable levels. If an adult’s BMI calculations are between 18.5 and 24.9, his weight is healthy. A BMI of less than 18.5 is considered underweight. Between 25 and 29.9 is overweight, and 30 or higher is obese. These are guidelines and not final determiners of an individual’s amount of body fat.
