Earth’s gravitational force refers to the force imposed on any object close to Earth as a result of Earth’s mass. Any object that is close to the Earth experiences gravity. For example, when a ball or an object is thrown up in the air, gravity pulls it back down.
Gravitational force is stronger on the Earth’s surface than far up in the sky or at the distance of the moon. The Earth’s gravitational force is equal to the force that the Earth exerts on an object. Gravity also decides how much an object or person weighs. The weight of an object or a person decreases as the object or person goes up in the air.
