What Is a Change From One Form of Energy Into Another Called?

The change from one form of energy to another is called energy transformation. This term refers to the scientific law that energy can not be created or destroyed but can only change forms.

The different types of energy include chemical, heat, electrical, kinetic, potential and nuclear energy. Chemical energy has to do with the bonds that hold a substance together and is released by any chemical reaction. Heat energy is when the metabolic body processes release energy. Kinetic energy is the energy of an object in motion while potential energy is the possible energy an object has while it is at rest. Kinetic and potential energy can convert into one another depending on the state of an object. Nuclear energy is the energy in the nucleus of the atom and can be tapped through fission or fusion.
