How Do You Take Care of a Rose of Jericho?
The rose of Jericho, known as a resurrection plant, is a desert plant that requires little care. After a desert rain, the plant opens from its brown, dormant form to form a living, green fern.

Find an appropriate container
Find a planting container that is free of holes which allows you to add 2 or more inches of small rocks or pebbles.

Add water
After adding the pebbles to the container, add enough water to bring the level to just above the surface of the rocks. Set the rose of Jericho on top of the gravel, allowing the roots to rest in the water.

Provide indirect sunlight
The plant does well at room temperature, away from excess heat with indirect sunlight. Do not place it in a window where it receives too much light. Make sure there is always water resting above the gravel in the container.

Let your resurrection plant die
Once removed from water, the plant remains green for a while due to its internal moisture content. Once it depletes the moisture, the plant curls back into the dead position. It remains in the dormant stage until it finds water again; the dormant stage in nature often lasts for years. When you are ready for the transformation again, put the root of the plant back into the water.
