If you live in the northern hemisphere, the brightest star in the South eastern sky is Siruis. This star is visible in the South, South eastern, and South western sky depending on what time of day it is.
Siruis is part of the constellation, Canis Major. We see Sirius as the brightest star in the sky because it’s close to the Earth, therefore its luminosity appears more intense. At a distance of 8.6 light years, it is the fifth closest stellar system. Sirius is an A-type star and shines with a white-blue color. It sometimes appears to rapidly change color.
