Which Biome Gets the Most Rainfall?

The tropical rainforest is the biome that receives the most rainfall. Rain forests get more than 200 centimeters of rainfall per year. The temperate deciduous forest biome is in second place for rainfall amounts per year.

In a deciduous temperate biome, the yearly rainfall amount is between 70 to 150 centimeters. The deciduous temperate forests consists of broadleaf trees that shed their leaves on a seasonal basis. Many parts of Europe and the northeastern region of the United States have this type of biome.

The tropical rainforest biome has warm temperatures and is found typically near the equator. South America’s Amazon region is a tropical rainforest. Similarly, this biome type is also found in areas in Africa and Southeast Asia. This biome contains many different varieties of plants and animals. However, the soil is poor because of the excessive amounts of rainfall it receives during the year.
