According to Mint Models, the 1:18 scale car is highly detailed, compared to smaller scaled versions. The large size of the models is directed more toward adult collectors or modelers, rather than children, and they are sold primarily in North America. The 1:18 scale models are also referred to as two-third-inch scale models because each foot of car space is scaled down to two-thirds of an inch of model space.
