The average temperature on the equator is usually between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius. This is much hotter than the average temperatures around the Earth because the equator receives the most direct sunlight. This average takes into account temperatures during both the day and night.
Those temperatures are average temperatures. The actual temperature depends on the location, and can vary quite a bit from one place to the next. For example, Pontianak, Indonesia, and Libreville, Gabon, are both situated on the equator. Pontianak’s average temperature is 27 degrees Celsius and Libreville’s average temperature is 26 degrees Celsius. Both of these temperatures vary greatly from the global average temperature.
