Water, ethanol, household bleach, blood, paint, milk, gasoline, mineral oil, acetone and butyl alcohol are examples of liquids. Liquids’ properties allow them to flow or be poured easily into containers.

Liquids adjust their shapes according to the containers they are poured into, and their volume remains the same no matter what shape they take to fill the containers. Liquids may turn into gases when they are heated and into solids when they are cooled. Liquid water that is heated to 212 degrees Fahrenheit turns into steam, which is a gas. In addition, liquid water that is cooled to 32 degrees Fahrenheit becomes ice.
