In What Order Were the 13 Original Colonies Settled?

Virginia was first colonized in 1607, followed by New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island and Connecticut by 1635. New Hampshire, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina and New Jersey followed, with Pennsylvania and Georgia being the last of the original 13 colonies to be established, in 1732.
The British Empire settled its first permanent American colony at Jamestown, Virginia in 1607. It was founded by the London Company. Puritans settled Massachusetts in two phases, first with the Plymouth Colony settlement in 1620, and then under the Massachusetts Bay Company in 1630. John Wheelwright founded New Hampshire in 1623, and Maryland was founded in 1634 by Lord Baltimore. These were followed by the founding of Connecticut in 1635 by Thomas Hooker and the 1636 founding of Rhode Island by Roger Williams. Peter Minuit and the New Sweden Company founded Delaware in 1638.
Virginians founded North Carolina in 1653, while it was eight nobles with a royal charter from Charles II who founded South Carolina 10 years later. New Jersey and New York were both founded in 1664 by Lord Berkeley and Sir George Carteret, and the Duke of York, respectively. Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn in 1682, and James Edward Oglethorpe founded Georgia in 1732.
