What Is George Washington’s Full Name?

The full name of the first president of the United States is George Washington; he had no middle name. He was born on Feb. 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, and died on Dec. 14, 1799, in Mount Vernon, Virginia.

During the American Revolution, Washington was a general and the commander-in-chief of the colonial armies. He then later served as the president of the United States from 1789 to 1797. While president, he preferred the title “Mr. President” instead of the more imposing names suggested to him. Also, he initially declined the $25,000 that Congress offered him as salary. He was already wealthy, and he wanted to keep the image of being a selfless public servant. However, he was eventually persuaded by Congress to accept the compensation in order not to give the impression that only the rich could serve as president.
