The Renaissance was a European cultural movement that began in Italy in the 14th century and lasted until the 17th century. After the stagnation of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance brought about changes that affected many areas such as music, science and religion.
Many great achievements were made during the Renaissance. The discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus, the development of the scientific method and the invention of printing are just a few of the accomplishments made during this time. The first newspaper also made its appearance during the Renaissance. This newspaper, called the “Relation,” was printed in Strassburg, Germany, in 1605.
