What Is the Smallest Lake in the World?

As of 2014, there is no available or accurate information that indicates the name, geographical location or size of what could be the smallest lake in the world. However, studies have accurately determined that the largest lake in the world is the Caspian Sea.

According to Livescience, a study done to determine the total number of lakes in the world showed that there are 117 million lakes in the world. Out of these, 90 million lakes fall in the smallest size category, measuring 0.5 to 2.5 acres (0.2 to 1 hectare). This equates to a large farm pond or a country house lot.
