The Eiffel Tower is visited by 6.8 million people each year, and has had an estimated 250 million visitors since it was built in 1889. Located in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower is situated on the Champ de Mars, which is a public green space that sits next to the Seine River.

There were more than 120 construction workers, 50 engineers and 100 iron workers involved in the construction of the Eiffel Tower, with the primary architect in charge being a man named Steven Sauvestre. Other than being a tourist attraction and French national monument, the Eiffel Tower also serves as an observation and radio broadcast tower. The Eiffel Tower is coated in dark brown paint that must be reapplied every 7 years, and consists of 1665 steps from top to bottom.
