The major landforms in the United Kingdom include mountain ranges, marshland, beaches, cliffs, lakes and gorges. The topography of each country differs slightly.
The United Kingdom includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each country has unique features, but there are common traits between them, such as rolling hills. However, some regions, such as England, Scotland and Wales, have higher mountain ranges; Ireland is known for lower mountains. Wales includes many deep caves and waterfalls, while Ireland has one of the largest freshwater lakes in both western Europe and the U.K. England is known for the cliffs at Dover and beaches along the English Channel.
