What Jobs Did the Vikings Have?

Vikings from countries, such as Denmark, Sweden and Norway, had jobs like traders, blacksmiths, jewelry makers, potters, bone carvers, blacksmiths, weapon makers, veterinarians, fence repairers, ship builders and herdsman.The Vikings were excellent craftsman and are especially known for their ability to design and build raiding and merchant ships.

Having excellent shipbuilders allowed the Vikings to travel greater distances, which eventually allowed them trade with countries from the Middle East, Europe and Russia. As the Vikings progressed throughout the years, they would become skilled in other jobs, such as stone carving, weaving, crafts, arts, metal working and bronze casting. The Viking era began sometime between 750 A.D. and 793 A.D. and ended around 1066 A.D.
