Ancient Egyptians invented the sword during the Bronze Age. Other cultures soon adopted swords, and they became popular. The sword evolved from the dagger and was made of arsenic copper or tin bronze. The sword symbolized liberty and faith and was said to be the emblem for military honor.
Warriors throughout history fought with swords even after guns were invented. Swords are made by skilled specialists known as swordsmiths, who meticulously shape iron into steel to make the sword. Unlike blacksmiths, swordsmiths need quality steel to forge a good blade. A swordsmith relies on practice and feedback about his work during the swordmaking process.
