Mexico is located in the Western Hemisphere. It is a country that is part of the North American continent.
Mexico is located south of the United States and north of several countries in Central America. Because of its warm climate, Mexico is a popular travel destination, particularly to people living in the U.S. To travel to Mexico from the U.S., the government initiated the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. This initiative requires that people traveling between countries in the Western Hemisphere show a passport or another form of identification that establishes the person’s identity and nationality as they travel to and from the U.S. in the Western Hemisphere.
