France is situated in the Northern, Eastern and Western Hemispheres. France is located in Western Europe. It is bordered by the English Channel and the Bay of Biscayne.

Its bordering countries include Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany and Monaco. This country’s total area is slightly more than 400,000 square miles. Some of France’s natural resources are coal, bauxite, uranium and timber.

Although Paris is its capital, some other famous cities are Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux and Strasbourg. France’s flag consists of three vertical bands that are blue, white and red. The French flag dates back to the French Revolution of the late 1700s.
