What Are Examples of Federalist Slogans?

As the first American political party, the Federalist Party coined the phrase “Millions for our Defense Not a Cent for Tribute,” which became quite popular in the late 1790s. This was printed on political engravings that resembled the dollar bill.

The Anti-Federalist slogan used during Thomas Jefferson’s election campaign stated that Jefferson’s election would “destroy religion, introduce immorality, and loosen all the bonds of society.” Jefferson’s defining slogan stated, “We are all Republicans; we are all Federalists,” and he uttered it during his inaugural speech. It was Alexander Hamilton who stated, “The vigor of government is essential to the security of liberty,” as he formed the Federalist Party in the late 18th century.
