How Did Euclid Die?

Since there are very few historical references to the Greek mathematician Euclid’s life, the circumstances and even the exact year of his death are unknown. Most sources estimate his death to have occurred somewhere in the middle of the third century B.C.

Due to the lack of reliable information, some historians even believe that Euclid was a fictional name invented by a group of mathematicians to publish their theories, although others claim that there is no evidence for this. Many later references to Euclid provide biographical information, including his time and method of death, but these were all written centuries after his life and contradict each other.
