On What Continent Is India Located?

India is located on the continent of Asia. India is the seventh-largest country in the world in land area, with a total area of 1,269,346 square miles.

India is bordered by the countries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, China, Nepal and Pakistan as well as by the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The country has a coastline of 4,700 miles. India comprises the majority of the Indian subcontinent and lies on top of the Indian tectonic plate. India’s Mount Kanchenjunga is the third tallest mountain in the world, with an elevation over 28,000 feet. The country has a diverse climate that can range from being tropical in the south to a comfortable, temperate climate in the north.
