On What Continent Is Fiji Located?

Fiji is not geographically considered to be part of one of the seven continents but is considered a part of Oceania. Oceania is the name of the area in the central and south Pacific ocean consisting of several island countries, dependencies and territories that are not part of a continent.

Some of Fiji’s nearby landmasses include Tonga, Tuvalu, New Zealand, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. The country of Fiji is an archipelago consisting of over 300 islands, 110 of which have permanent residents. The total area of Fiji is estimated to be around 7,100 square miles. Fiji had an estimated population exceeding 850,000 people in 2012.
