How Do You Check the Status of an American Airlines Flight?
To check the status of an American Airlines flight, visit AA.com and select Flight Status on the home page. Alternatively, a range of flight-tracking sites including FlightStats.com and FlightAware.com offer flight status updates and real-time flight information for all commercial airlines, including American Airlines.
To use the flight status search tool on AA.com, enter the flight number, or departure and arrival airports, along with the departure date. Press Search to navigate to a page showing the flight’s scheduled, estimated and actual departure and arrival times, terminals and gate numbers. Select Create Notification to receive further updates including any changes to gate numbers, by text message, voice mail or email.
To check the status of an American Airlines flight on FlightStats.com, enter flight information in the search box on the home page and navigate to a page showing the flight’s current status and a map displaying the plane’s real-time geographical location. Select Set Up a Flight Alert to receive status and arrival notifications to a mobile device.
FlightAware.com has a search tool enabling passengers to check the status of either an individual American Airlines flight or all American Airlines flights that are currently airborne. Enter the individual flight details in the search bar at the top of the home page, and press Track to view flight status information and a real-time map. To view flight status updates for all American Airlines flights, enter American Airlines in the search box and select Live American Airlines Flight Status from the menu.
