Singapore is the capital of Singapore. A microstate, Singapore is both a city and a country, and therefore the capital of Singapore is also the entire country of Singapore.

Singapore is only 276 square miles, or 697 square kilometers, in area, making it roughly 3.5 times the size of Washington, D.C. However, this tiny space is home to more than 5.5 million people and a flourishing business environment that is the envy of many countries with more land. A powerful prime minister leads the Singaporean government, working with Parliament and a substantially weaker president to move legislation forward. All of the country’s governmental institutions are located in Singapore.
