What Are the Bodies of Water in Jamaica?
There are six bodies of water in Jamaica, including popular tourist destinations like Blue Lagoon, Dunn’s River Falls and Rio Grande. Other bodies of water include Martha Brae River, Somerset Falls and Y.S. Falls.
The island of Jamaica is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. The coastline varies across the country, with the northern side of the island near Negril being surrounded by cliffs and the southern side, like Montego Bay, featuring sandy beaches.
On land, Jamaica is home to several bodies of water. The most popular of these for tourists is Dunn’s River Falls. Here, tourists can climb up the waterfall on a number of rocks and rock ledges. Rio Grande is also a popular destination for many as it offers an opportunity to go river rafting down the 8-mile long river.
