The temperature of the Atlantic Ocean varies from 28 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. This applies to the waters’ surface temperature.
The ocean’s temperature varies based on season, latitude and current systems. It also corresponds with the solar energy’s latitudinal spread. North of the equator, the temperatures are at their maximum. Polar areas have minimum temperatures. In between polar and equatorial regions, there are the middle latitudes with temperatures ranging from 13 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
Deeper waters of the Atlantic Ocean have different temperatures compared to their surface waters. For example, the North Atlantic temperature ranges from 36.5 to 41 degrees Fahrenheit at 3,000 feet.
