Where Is Silicon Valley Located?

Silicon Valley is located in southern California in the United States. The industrial region is an area that borders San Francisco Bay’s southern shores.

Silicon Valley is known across the world as a hub of technology. It is densely populated by computer, software and electronic companies. The region spans across many counties and cities, including Santa Clara county and San Jose. The center of Silicon Valley is considered to be Palo Alto, which is the home of Stanford University.

Silicon was the main material that semiconductors were constructed from when Silicon Valley received its name in the mid-20th century. The Valley is considered to be responsible for most of the region’s economic growth in past decades.
