As of April 2014, Najib Razak is the current and sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia. Razak took office on April 3, 2009, and was preceded by Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Razak attended school in Kuala Lumpur and completed his education in the United Kingdom. Prior to his term as prime minister, he served two terms as minister of defense and was appointed deputy prime minister in 2004. He comes from a political family, as his father, Abdul Razak, was the second prime minister of Malaysia from 1970 to 1976, and his uncle, Hussein Onn, succeeded his father as the country’s third-ever leader. His brother, Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak, runs Malaysia’s second-largest financial services group.
