Where Is Prague Located?

Prague, the capital and the largest city of the Czech Republic, is located along the Vitava River in the central part of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic borders the countries of Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland. The total area of Prague is 192 square miles.

Prague has approximately the same latitude as the cities of Frankfurt, Germany; Paris, France; and Vancouver, Canada. The climate of Prague varies between oceanic and a humid continental climate. The winters in Prague are cold with average temperatures near freezing. The summers are warm with plentiful sunshine and an average high temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
