People visit the Taj Mahal because it is one of the most beautiful and recognized examples of Mughal architecture in the world. It is also considered a great scientific achievement of the wealthy Mughal empire.
More than 20,000 artists, masons and stone carvers took part in the construction of the Taj Mahal, which were recruited from Turkey, Iraq and India. Construction of the white marble mausoleum began in 1632 and ended in 1648, with its surrounding garden and buildings being completed 5 years later. The main mausoleum is joined by two red sandstone buildings on its flanks, while also having a large reflecting pool on its northern edge. The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, India.
