In 2013, Texas had a population of 24.6 million people with Houston as the most populous city. Texas is bordered by Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico. Most of Texas has an elevation of just over 1,700 feet and the maximum elevation is 8,794 feet at Guadalupe Peak.
