What Is Florida Famous For?
Florida is famous for many things including being the home to the world-renowned Walt Disney World, the National Naval Aviation Museum and the Kennedy Space Center. It is also famous for its hurricanes and warm weather.
The Walt Disney World Resort, colloquially known as Walt Disney World or just Disney World, is an entertainment complex in Bay Lake, Florida. It opened on Oct. 1, 1971, and is the flagship of Disney’s global theme park empire. According to Forbes, it is the most visited vacation resort on Earth, with an estimated attendance of 52.5 million annually. There are four separate amusement parks inside Disney World: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney World also houses two water parks, one camping resort, four 18-hole golf courses and one nine-hole course, hotels ranging from budget to luxury and a slew of restaurants. It was developed by Walt Disney in the 1960s.
The National Naval Aviation Museum, previously known as the National Museum of Naval Aviation and the Naval Aviation Museum, is a military and aerospace museum located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. It initially opened in 1962 and is dedicated to the history of naval aviation, including that of the United States Navy, the United States Marine Corps and the United States Coast Guard. The museum has an IMAX theater, museum store and cafe.
