England is part of Europe. It is an autonomous administrative division of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which is situated in Western Europe. Conventionally known as the United Kingdom, this country is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

England is bordered to the north by Scotland and to the west by Wales. These three self-governing regions comprise Great Britain, an island in the Atlantic Ocean that is located on the eastern side of Ireland and northwest section of France.
