Great Britain is an island that consists of three independent regions: England, Scotland and Wales. Great Britain is part of the country of the United Kingdom, along with Northern Ireland. The southern portion of Ireland is an independent country.

Great Britain is the fourth-largest island in the world. It covers an area of more than 88,000 square miles. Humans have inhabited Great Britain for over 500,000 years.

The United Kingdom is the third-largest economy in Europe. Manufacturing and service industries are the primary source of the country’s revenue. However, there is a small amount of agriculture that contributes to the country’s output.
