What Are Some Cities on Florida’s Gulf Coast?
Some cities on Florida’s Gulf Coast include Pensacola, Panama City, Gulf Breeze, Fort Walton Beach, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Fort Myers and Naples. These cities are located in different regions of Florida’s Gulf Coast, including the northwest, west central and southwest.
Northwest Florida is also referred to as the Florida Panhandle. This area is popular for its white sandy beaches. This region stretches from Pensacola located in the west to Carabelle that lies towards the east. Twelve counties make up this region that includes other cities, such as Apalachicola, Milton and Defuniak Springs. Pensacola and Panama City, which are also found in the Panhandle, have popular tourist attractions, such as the National Museum of Naval Aviation and St. Andrews State Park, respectively.
The west central region of Florida is also found along the Gulf Coast. Clearwater, Tampa and St. Petersburg are the main cities located in this area. These are cities with large populations compared to some other cities in this area, such as Arcadia and Englewood. This region comrpises eight counties. A few attractions in this region are the Florida Aquarium in Tampa and the Ringling Museum in Sarasota.
The southwest region of Florida’s Gulf Coast consists of five counties. Some cities in this region are Fort Myers, Naples, Punta Gorda, Labelle and Palmdale. Some attractions in Fort Myers are the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford winter estates, which are located near each other.
