Have There Been Any Women Navy Seals?

As of February 2015, there have never been any female Navy SEALs. A Navy SEAL must be male, 17 to 28 years old, a citizen of the United States and a high school graduate, among other physical screening, military service and legal requirements.

Beginning March 2016, women can begin training as Navy SEALs. Beginning October 2015, women could begin Navy boot camp with the intention of eventually becoming Navy SEALs. The training to become a Navy SEAL is considered to be some of the toughest military training in the world.

The Army plans to develop standards by July 2015 for women to allow them to train for becoming Rangers.
