A welcome speech for a reunion is a verbal presentation that often occurs at the beginning of the reunion. The words of the speech welcome those in attendance and are meant to thank everyone for coming.
It may be helpful to introduce certain members of the family during a family reunion welcome speech. For instance, the person giving the speech can introduce the family’s matriarch and patriarch, along with the newest addition to the family. If the speech is for a class reunion, it may be fitting to introduce people who held positions such as class president, or homecoming king and queen during high school, at the beginning of the reunion.
