An easy way for a user to block a number on a Verizon cellphone is to press the digits *67 on the keypad before dialing the number directly. By dialing *67, the end user’s number will be blocked and the recipient will not receive information as to who is calling the number.

Specific to a Verizon cellphone, an end user can block calls only to a specific number by dialing *82 before dialing the number directly. Also, a Verizon user can block their number from displaying on all calls by going to the My Verizon portion of Verizon’s official website. From the My Verizon page, the user must go to the “Change Features” section. The correct device must be selected, and the word Add must be chosen, next to Caller ID Blocking. The cellphone user must then click Next to go to the next page of the website, and select the date range for this change to take effect. After these changes have been reviewed, the user can then click Submit to have the changes reflected in their account.

Caller ID and Caller ID Blocking are automatic features of any Verizon mobile phone account. A user may have to go to the Change Features section of the My Verizon portion of the website in order to change or activate these features.
