To find a VIN on a travel trailer, look on the title to the trailer or on the trailer itself. Travel trailer VIN plate locations are not universal. The VIN may be located on the trailer tongue, on any part of the frame, or the vehicle exterior and interior.
The surest place to find the VIN is in the trailer’s documents, including the registration and insurance documents for the trailer. If these documents are unavailable, the VIN may be located on the vehicle itself. The trailer tongue, defined as the metal bars at the front end of the trailer, is the most common VIN placement area and should be checked first. If the VIN cannot be found on the trailer tongue, check the frame, then the exterior and interior of the vehicle.
