Does Vaseline Have an Expiration Date?

Vaseline, which is made of petroleum jelly, does not include an expiration date on the container. However, the Vaseline company does choose to include a “best if used by” date on the container, which indicates that there is an optimal time for the product to be used.

When using Vaseline that has an unreadable “best if used by” date, the use of one’s best judgment as to the smell and consistency is advised. Do not use the Vaseline if the product looks or smells abnormal or if it is of an unusual consistency. Vaseline has a variety of uses from cosmetic to first aid.
