Who Makes Vanderbilt Tires?

As of 2015, the Kelly Springfield Tire Company, a division of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, manufactures Vanderbilt tires. Vanderbilt is a line of private label tires. Private labeling involves the hiring of a company with production capacity to produce tires that are then sold under the Vanderbilt brand.

TBC Corporation acquired the Vanderbilt private label tire brand in 2001. Through its TBC Brands division, TBC Corporation markets Vanderbilt tires and 12 other proprietary tire brands to the North American market. In 2005, Sumitomo Corporation of America, the largest subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, acquired TBC Corporation. While owned by Sumitomo, TBC operates as an independent company and continues to distribute Vanderbilt tires to retail and wholesale outlets across North America.
